Welcome!

Welcome to Holy Cross Church
We are a growing church that seeks to live out our mission statement by being a cornerstone in the community of Billesley Common, loving and serving God faithfully while reaching out through God’s love to neighbours both local and global.
We aim to do this in a variety of ways which include:
WORSHIP
Through creative worship which includes all generations on Sunday mornings, mid-week prayers and services, Messy Church and seasonal gatherings. We enjoy a collaborative style of leadership and encourage the releasing of gifts throughout the congregation for growth and Christian development.
Currently under COVID guidance we are meeting in restricted numbers physically in church and live streaming our services through Face Book. We socially gather over a zoom call following our Sunday Service.
DISCIPLESHIP
We offer START! courses for enquirers which we regularly adapt for young families to join in together as they learn about Jesus, faith and each other. We have hosted and tutored 3D courses for Christians to go deeper in learning through the Bible in conversation, Bible study and prayerful reflection and by living out their faith.
PLACE OF WELCOME
Offering the opportunity to meet with friendship and conversation, valuing all who come.
Light refreshments are freely available. (Currently Suspended)
ECO CHURCH
We are committed to following an Eco Church journey, working towards being Carbon Zero in 2030 as part of the wider national commitment across The Church of England. We have achieved Bronze status with an award scheme through A Rocha UK, a Christian Environmental Charity.
We are a Fairtrade church which supports Toilet Twinning and hosts Clothes Swaps while offering a variety of recycling opportunities and encouraging each other to live more sustainable lifestyles. We have an Eco Garden, helped and supported by our Scouts groups and which has just seen the addition of two apple trees which were planted and blessed for growth and fruitfulness to benefit the whole community.
CHARITABLE SUPPORT
We regularly support charities local to Birmingham and across God’s global family:
Christian Aid
The British Legion
The Children’s Society
Birmingham City Mission
Embrace The Middle East
SCHOOLS WORK
We regularly host art exhibitions, loaned from Westhill Endowment through which we encourage our local schools to visit and respond with their own art work, facilitated by a small team of volunteers. A popular exhibition of sculptures explores grief, loss and change, which we usually host around Mental Health week, and we offer a safe space to discuss emotions and self-care.

This is only a snap shot of who we are at Holy Cross, as our wide connections enable us to participate in youth and older peoples work and projects too. We look forward to meeting you soon.
